What Scorpio rising means
You come across magnetic, private and intense, with a gaze that sees through people. Others sense your power. You reveal yourself slowly.
The rising sign, or Ascendant, is the sign coming up on the eastern horizon at the moment of birth, so it needs the exact time and place. It stands for the face you show, your body and the way you begin things. In Scorpio it works intensely and privately; it goes deep and does not let go. Its ruler, Mars and, in modern astrology, Pluto, is the ruler of the whole chart.
The opposite point, the Descendant, falls in Taurus: the partner it describes is a rock. Steady, sensual, loyal and stubborn: someone with good taste, a soft voice, a love of good food and money in the bank, and no wish to rush.
