What Aries rising means
You meet the world head-on: quick, direct, energetic and sometimes impatient. People see a starter and a fighter. Life asks you to lead, and to learn patience.
The rising sign, or Ascendant, is the sign coming up on the eastern horizon at the moment of birth, so it needs the exact time and place. It stands for the face you show, your body and the way you begin things. In Aries it works boldly, directly and fast; it wants to act first and win. Its ruler, Mars, is the ruler of the whole chart.
The opposite point, the Descendant, falls in Libra: the partner it describes is a charmer. Good-looking, fair, sociable and diplomatic, with taste in clothes and art: someone who hates conflict, loves partnership itself and wants a marriage that looks as good as it feels.
