What Capricorn rising means

You come across serious, reserved and capable, older than your years when young and younger when old. People see authority. You build your life step by step.

The rising sign, or Ascendant, is the sign coming up on the eastern horizon at the moment of birth, so it needs the exact time and place. It stands for the face you show, your body and the way you begin things. In Capricorn it works seriously and with ambition; it climbs step by step and lasts. Its ruler, Saturn, is the ruler of the whole chart.

The opposite point, the Descendant, falls in Cancer: the partner it describes is a protector. Tender, moody, family-minded and fiercely loyal: someone who feeds you, remembers everything and wants a home that closes around you both like a shell.
